Flesh. It's what's for dinner.

[ king - in the future ]
So my pictures from fanmixing yesterday made me think...

Under this cut, I cast five Stephen King books (along with rambles and reasonings). These are dream-castings, obviously, since they will never happen and some of them can't happen (like casting River Phoenix or a younger Jensen Ackles). Also, The Dark Half already has a movie, yes, but I had a wacked-out dream about this casting and it flipped me out and I would kill to see it. It would be THE BEST THING EVER.

LOL, what the shit is this casting Zac Efron twice? Of all people, Zac Efron? XD And if I ended up casting Duma Key as well then I would've casted the whole Winchester family! Hehe~ I can't for the life of me think of anyone for Wireman though. IDEAS, ANYONE?

YAY FOR SEXCELLENT PEOPLE UNDER THE CUT. :O

LISEY'S STORY -- 2006

LISEY LANDON (Jennifer Connelly): She has the dark hair and the blue eyes and I think she could carry this role even farther then what it was in the book. She can do the slightly frightened thing as well as the "eff this time to kick some shit" thing. She also looks really pretty all the damn time -- dishevled or cleaned up and since she spends half the book wrecked physically and drained emotionally IT WORKS.

SCOTT LANDON (Kevin Zegers): He plays tortured like it's no one's business but his own. His eyes are blue instead of hazel, but his hair is Scott all over (THE DARK COMMA, YOU GUYS <3). I really think he would kill the scenes where Scott is sharing his past with Lisey and he'd work wonders on the scenes where Scott is being Scott. Up in the loft in the barn writing his stories and smoking his cigarettes and singing and being himself.

PAUL LANDON (Zac Efron): LOOK AT THEM BESIDE EACH OTHER. Sure, Scott and Paul are never in a scene together where it would be Kevin and Zac, but to have a little!Scott casted for all the Sparky/Paul/Scoot (yes, SCOOT!) scenes and then to cut back to Kevin!Scott telling the story -- it would be amazing. Plus, I think Efron really needs to do something besides the singing and dancing. He is, I think, I don't follow Efron like I follow say... ZEGERS, so I don't know. So he's still the slap-happy singing and dancing kid to me. BREAKOUT AND PLAY THE BAD-GUNKY BROTHER, COME ON.

AMANDA DEBUSHER (Diane Lane): HAVE YOU SEEN DIANE LANE? SHE CAN DO ANYTHING. [info]see_aphy_be put this one in my head and it's stuck with every reread of the book. Amanda's spaced out moments along with her bouts of crystal clarity would work like a charm with Lane doing it. (LOL BREAKING OUT OF THE MENTAL FACILITY, CHECK~)

JIM DOOLEY (Norman Reedus): Norman Reedus works wonders playing grimy. I think he could bring the right amount of DREAD and CREEPY to the role. Plus, he would look nice slapping Lisey around. Although, they would have to make him REALLY, REALLY skeevy looking, cause you feel no remorse for this asshole in the book.

ANDREW "SPARKY" LANDON (Tim DeKay): I fell in love with Tim DeKay after watching Carnivale and The Chumscrubber. I think he has the right amount of GRUFF EXTERIOR to play Sparky Landon. And man, whenever I picture him and Paul!Zac and a Little!Scott it makes me shudder. Like the jumping and the pickaxe and everything -- DeKay could pull it off with flying colors.

---------------------------------------------------------

BAG OF BONES -- 1998

MIKE NOONAN (Josh Lucas): He is the perfect age for Mike Noonan right now, and can play slightly aloof. Plus, I think he's good enough to carry this -- Mike has a good number of scenes alone, which I think he would own. And he always seems to have very good chemistry with others, so scenes with Mattie and Kyra (who I didn't cast since really young children are impossible, dude) would turn out great.

JOHANNA "JO" NOONAN (Rachel Weisz): Jo doesn't appear TOO MUCH in the story, but she plays a very big part and I think Weisz would give her presence she has/needs.

MATTIE DEVORE (Bryce Dallas Howard): I am not a fan of her with blonde hair (she is like one of the hottest redheads ever), but make her a softer blonde and holy crap Mattie Devore. She looks the part and can definitely pull off TOUGH LITTLE MATTIE LOL. I also think she would work magic with Kyra.

MAX DEVORE (Anthony Hopkins): THIS. YESSSSSSS. YESSSSSSSS. THIIIIIIS.

ROGETTE WHITMORE (Anjelica Huston): I effing love (always have) Huston -- especially her face. The angles and the eyes and EVERYTHING. I pictured her whenever Rogette was around cause Rogette was always making bitchy faces and being mean and Huston plays mean in an original and classy sort of fashion.

SARA TIDWELL (Naomie Harris): THIS ALSO. She would be wonderful for this. Sara was fiesty and when Mike comes across her -- angry. I mean, you saw her as Tia Dalma, yeah? Her as Sara would be SO YESSSSS.

---------------------------------------------------------

THE LONG WALK -- 1979

RAY GARRATY (River Phoenix): Yes, this is obviously not possible. But man, River Phoenix right in the period around Stand By Me and The Mosquito Coast would be perfect. The first time I read the book however many years ago I had just discovered Mister Phoenix so I was like, LOL PICTURE RIVER PHOENIX AS RAY -- but then the more I thought about it the more it worked. Cause you take the strength and compassion he worked as Chris Chambers in Stand By Me and then the cautious nature and determination from his Charlie Fox-ness in The Mosquito Coast AND YOU HAVE RAY GARRATY.

PETER MCVRIES (Lou Taylor Pucci): WANGST? SNARK? IT'S ALL HERE. I have no words for how awesome this would be. McVries has mood swings sometimes -- then maybe he'll help Ray and get pissed at himself. He's kind of a wildcard ("WILDCARD, BITCHES!") and LTP, between Thumbsucker, Fifty Pills, The Chumscrubber and Empire Falls, he could own it all. JUST SLASH HIS CHEEK OPEN AND YOU HAVE A WINNER~

ART BAKER (Zac Efron): Alright, so Zac Efron again. But really, add a southern twang and Efron would be Art Baker. He just needs to act like a slightly snarky but ultimately sweet boy who tries to keep peace whenever possible. I think he would balance out the other boys here perfectly. And holy crap, his smile is so Art Baker.

HANK OLSON (Jensen Ackles): OMG, younger "TOUGH" Jensen for this would be AMAZING. Look at the hair! And the smirk! Couldn't you just imagine him trying to rebel!? IT WOULD BE AMAZING, LIKE I SAID.

JAN (Alison Lohman): Alison Lohman is pretty in a nonconventional way, and that's how I always thought of Jan when Ray was blabbing about her. She's not drop-dead gorgeous supermodel but Ray is head-over-heels in love and I think Lohman could play the SWEETHEART that Ray wants to keep walking for. She must wear flats though, since Jan always wears flats cause she's tall. XD

PRISCILLA (Camilla Belle): Oh my gawd, Camilla Belle and Lou Taylor Pucci as Pris and Peter in flashbacks would MAKE MY LIFE. I CAN'T EVEN DESCRIBE THE YAY OF THIS.

GARY BARKOVITCH (Tyler Posey): LOLOLOLOL GRAB AND TEAR THAT NECK POSEY. The skin and the hair work with the best with him. Barkovitch is described more with an olive-skin tone and dark hair and everyone needs the chance to play an UTTER AND COMPLETELY AWESOME ASSHOLE.

STEBBINS (Tom Payne): When this hit me, it hit me hard. His hair, when a little longer than in the picture above -- along with his pout and his big, sad eyes -- Payne could work Stebbins like a truckstop bitch. Shovel some PB&J sammiches into his mouth and have him spout obnoxious white rabbit bullshit and let him HAVE AT IT.

HARKNESS (Nick Stahl): Nick Stahl has always had this innocent thing about him, which I think would work well for Harkness. Just give him a pair of glasses, cut his hair and shove a notebook in his hand so he can wander around and talk about WRITING HIS BOOK LOL.

THE MAJOR (Jack Nicholson): I'm sorry, this would kick ass. For real. 'Nuff said.

---------------------------------------------------------

THE DARK HALF -- 1989

THAD BEAUMONT (Lee Pace): I loved the way Romero had Hutton play both Thad & George in the '93 adaptation of The Dark Half, but when I had the crackass dream of Pace and Padalecki doing this I first thought, "HAHAHA WHAT?!??!" and then, "WAIT, WHAT...?" and then, "YESSSSSSSSS." Lee Pace would be a natural with the slightly clumsy and slightly calm author, Thad Beaumont, whereas this one could take the BITCHERY and VIOLENCE of George Stark to a whole new level...

GEORGE STARK (Jared Padalecki): Okay, seriously. Dye his hair a dirty blonde and let him talk in his normal accent (maybe with a little added twang). We know he can play evil very, very well. I think it would work perfectly. AND GIVE HIM THE "MURDER. WANT SOME?" LINE BECAUSE IT WOULD KICK ASS.

ELIZABETH "LIZ" BEAUMONT (Amy Adams): EEEEEEE~ <3333 I WOULD LOVE THIS. She would be toned down since Liz was never so FANCY PRETTY (even thought Amy Adams could be grime-covered wearing a paper bag and still look AMAZING) but her with the twins and everything, SO PERFECT. And her worry for Thad and then her subsequent LOL WHATEVER BYE in later books. I would loooooove it.

ALAN PANGBORN (Timothy Hutton): This would be a lovely callback to the 1993 adaptation since Hutton played both Thad and George. XD Plus, I think Hutton could easily pull off the kind of "what are you kidding me lol yeah sure beaumont *eyeroll* SPARROWS?" that Pangborn seems to amuse the world with from the start.

---------------------------------------------------------

CELL -- 2006

CLAYTON "CLAY" RIDDELL (Jason Bateman): JASON BATEMAN KILLING PHONE ZOMBIES AND SHIT? I WOULD LOVE IT. Why Jason Bateman came to me while I was reading the book a second time? I... I don't know... but it stuck. And it would be AWESOME to watch. PICTURE IT.

TOM MCCOURT (Jeffrey Dean Morgan): McCourt so cute. <3 COULD YOU PICTURE HIM TALKING ABOUT HIS CAT. Okay, anyways, yes, let JDM fight the phone crazies alongside Bateman and this movie would be made. It would be good to see JDM as a kind of awkward sort of dude instead of a STRAPPING MISTER WINCHESTER and all that jazz. Let him be awkward with weapons! It would be fun to watch! XD

THE RAGGEDY MAN (Mos Def): THIS. <3 I love me some Mos Def and would love to see him play a complete and total NOT COMPLETELY HUMAN badass. LET HIM WEAR THE HARVARD SWEATSHIRT.

ALICE MAXWELL (Jodelle Ferland): She's about the right age for this at the moment -- Alice was 15 and Jodelle is about 14, I think. Ferland has showed her acting chops ALL OVER THE PLACE and I am absolutely in love with the darling. I really think she could work as Alice, SHOE AND ALL. Of course, I love Jodelle so much (and the character of Alice) that this casting would make me so bitter. If you're read the book, you'll know the BITTER CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT I'M TALKING ABOUT. THE DEVELOPMENT THAT IS SO NOT DEVELOPING.

JORDAN (Freddie Boath): I can't remember if they gave Jordan's age or not. But Freddie's a darling little kid who actually doesn't annoy the crap out of me and Jordan is a darling kid who actually doesn't annoy the crap out of me and it just works. Plus, Jordan is a cute little nerd. <3

CHARLES ARDAI (Patrick Bauchau): Charles Ardai isn't a HUGE part in the book, yeah, but I always pictured Bauchau for some reason. It just works. I could see him fitting into the character easily.

I think that was bad cause now I want to go reread this hot, hot stuff all over again. Along with Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Needful Things... *continues to ramble off books*

<3333333333333333333333333333 WHAT.

I had thought about joining the Walkers for D*C as Harkness. Since I like to write and stuff. But yeah, that's my brilliant contribution to this post. I've only read 2 of those. Me = lame.

They are all spot on if you ask me. I need to read cell. Especially now that I've seen the cast you've used omg Bateman, Morgan, Mos Def...

And yeah. I still can't come up with anyone good for Wireman. Why is that so hard?

Also, Cast Duma Key. Do it. Do it.

*lol who's a late replier?!*
I read Frank Darabont got the rights to make TLW (and he better do it soon, damn it. I hate how he said he'll "get to it one day". HE BETTER GET TO IT TOMORROW.). You need to send your cast list to him, for serious. It would be the coolest thing if he would take your suggestions.

I know! Don't get to it "ONE DAY", we must have it now! XD

I would love if he cast just one of these people -- hell, I would love it with unknowns. I have faith in him! (But it would be totally awesome if he took suggestions, YES)~
