YES.

I feel justified in posting this partly because I never did finish MW all the way. :/ Man, the one thing I'm good at...

So, did anyone else pick up Invasion this week? I'll go ahead and admit that I'd actually forgotten it existed until I was at the comic book store the other day getting my Batman fix, and there it was sitting on the new release shelf. Clearly I was morally obligated to buy it, and as it turns out, I’m actually quite glad I did.

For those of you who cut your losses when you should have haven't been keeping up with new releases, a while ago Dark Horse announced a new ongoing comic series set during the New Jedi Order, which was planned to weave a liberal path through the established canon within that timeframe and star a number of new original characters, along with frequent appearances by the Solo kids and their mentors.Cut for spoilers and picspammed reviewage of Star Wars: Invasion #1 )

I also picked up two random back issues of The Authority, but found them intriguing but fairly incomprehensible, as random back issues are wont to be. Which means I will have to get the paperbacks when I have money again. And more about my damn comics )

On another note, my mom bought a new cookbook of vegan desserts, and I have been taking every opportunity to plunder it. I made apple pecan muffins last week, and am contemplating chocolate chip scones today. Oh, how I've missed baking.

Picture Prices

Hey guys! Almost time :)

I was wondering if anyone knew approximately how much Patrick Stewart will charge for pictures. Or if you don't know, how much did the other cast members of TNG charge?

My one certain goal this year is a picture with the awesome man :P

Thanks!

Eye candy: Yoda and Leia as ‘bots!

  • Jul. 6th, 2009 at 2:45 PM

bots

Since it’s Monday after a holiday weekend, I figure we might as well just shrug it off with some cute: the Yoda Bot, Princess Leia Bot and Chewbacca from Bolts and Bots. Check their blog, Etsy, or Flickr for more bot creations.

Dragon con is not too far away, and I think many others like my self are starting to do the last touches on what ever costumes we are going to have on as we run around the con.

I can't for the life of me sew a lick so I always need to use places that have ready made things and then I add to them or tweek them to make it work. In the past I have had both good and bad with online shops as many others have. But I guessed every one here could use a heads up on the good. These are places I have gotten stuff from a lot. Never ever had any issue with and the people who run these shops are very good , on the ball and I have always shipped my thing on time and in some cases the thing looked better in person then the photo on there site.

So here you go here are the places I have found that are stress free to deal with and will not kill your wallet.

(cross-posted a few other places I frequent)

Very soon I'm leaving for my round-the-world trip. When? Next Friday. (it sure came up fast! o.o )

I'll be gone for two months as I make a tour of as many geeky places as I think of, slowly heading in a general Eastern direction. While I might post something here along the way, don't necessarily count on it or for me to read your important post. The best way to get ahold of me is through my email.

I'm trying to set up a whole travel website to make it easy for people to follow my adventures. I'll link it here once I'm finished, if I get it done in time. I've got parts of it working and it's already quite snazzy!

If anyone wants to meet up with me while I'm in Los Angeles, Seattle, Spokane, Denver, Wichita, Dallas, Pensacola, Orlando, Miami, London, Paris, Geneva, Hong Kong and a bunch of other places inbetween/nearby plus some more I'm forgetting, drop me a line! I don't bite too hard in-person! :D

More Peeg Visiting

  • Jul. 6th, 2009 at 12:39 AM
There are two new boys in the local shelter; I went and visited them today. They were impacted but I tried to do as much boar cleaning as they would let me.

That is like the nice way of putting it. To put it bluntly, I crammed a q-tip in their anuses and tried to scoop out stuck bits. This is what happens when owners do not give their pigs large enough cages with sufficient exercise space and their guinea pigs never develop the muscle tone to poop correctly.

Also cut some poop encrusted hair off the grease gland area. One thing I noticed especially on the white and tan abby there are spurs on the front feet, including three on one foot. I did trim them down, though. They do not seem all that active. They chattered at me when I went to pick them up, though they calmed down considerably in my lap.

I have better pictures of the second pig if you guys want to see them, but these are the two cutest pictures. I clipped care brochures on the door and set veggies in their cage after their "spa" session and they went to town.

I can't believe so many guinea pigs came into local shelters at once this week. I've learned a lot from visiting them but I still feel like I have a lot of to learn.

Another [info]pixel_trade challenge. I started out creating two new Sims by molding it in child form. I wanted to make them adorable, so I did my best to get a little bit of uniqueness, while still keeping them kinda they way I prefer my Sims.

Now, on with the pic spam!
