dsjfkadjfkasdjfk i am angry right now. I got my hair colored and cut earlier, which is good -- I love the way it looks. But the angry came when I got home and started more work on my TK Queen dress. Cause you know, I'm a total procrastinator and waited until the last minute to work on it (my most difficult costume, naturally). There's gathering and loops and all kind of shit in it that just frustrates the hell out of me. A part on the top got screwed up and I can't find my extra material and I started tearing the seams out and it got fucked up and I got fed up and I was working on it until I started shaking from hunger.

After shoving my face with a put-together-in-2-seconds dinner, I sat back down and looked at it and then shook my head and got up and walked into the living room with some cookies to watch Bridezillas. :|

So unless there's a miracle, the Queen Tenel Ka dress isn't coming to D*C this year. Tempest Tenel Ka still is though. XD

At least my hair looks hot. And at least I'm not a raging stupid bitch like these chicks on Bridezillas. Ohmigawd, these women are HORRIBLE.

I am very excited. Last night, my darling friend of bestness Erin (omicron1337) basically sat down and made a whole kickass Maid Marian cloak in the length of Robin Hood: Men in Tights. I was fretting about making it and the time left before the con along with all the other costume crap I still have to do. So I was like OMG ERIN CAN YOU HEPLMEPLZ and then last night Jeremy, her and I sat in her basement and put the movie on and she made a Whole Damn Cloak in like an hour and a half with no pattern and I LOVE HER FOR IT. It is amazing. So all I need to do to it is hem it and that is DONE! :D

So I only have a few little things left to do on all my costumes except for the Tenel Ka Queen dress, which I worked on like all day. The dress still needs a lot done to it (like being all put together, LOL) but I got the part I'm all yay giddy about almost done. I mentioned it awhile back here... so I will have the dress, which is going to be a really dark blue... and then recalling the Official Symbol of the OMG Hapes Consortium:



And then there is this thing:



This cape thing. It'll be hanging off of my left shoulder. Therefore it serves two purposes -- actually three. One, QUEEN MOTHER WUT LOOK AT TEH SYMBOLAGE. Two, the semi-hiding of the left arm. Three, to counteract the godet in the bottom of the dress on the right side, which is made up of the three middle colors on the cape.

The blues aren't exactly the same, but really, I was just going for the FIVE BLUE idea and not an OMG EXACTLY EXACT REPLICA OF EXACTING. XD And I obviously still need to iron it and all that jazz, but I am really excited about it for some reason. O_o

I also didn't put the yellow on it -- cause ew. Come on now.

Hehe. So Saturday night, Ronnie and Alex came over and we sat around and ate pizza and watched The Chipmunk Adventure. If you've never seen that movie, you're missing out. I want my own Alvin and the Chipmunks (AND CHIPETTES) dolls with diamonds in them. I had forgotten how creepy the bad guys were, but I had definitely not forgotten my favorite number -- when Alvin, Simon and Theodore sing Wooly Bully for the natives and make the poles they're tied to start dancing. MAGIC, I TELL YOU. Also, when Alvin offers them his "shoesies~"

We also realized there is no way that movie would fly today. There are so many things that people would get all offended over and come on now, it's the effing CHIPMUNKS.

(I also never knew Simon was the oldest chipmunk. I always thought it was Alvin cause he was the "leader" -- except he wasn't using his age for leverage, I guess. He was just being a little asshole. XD)

Also also. Jeanette + Simon = OTP.

After that we randomly played stuff until midnight when we decided to take a trip to Ronnie's to get one of his 360 controllers and his guitar -- then we went to the creepy 7-11 (where everyone knew Alex's name, thanks to his awesome nametag) and talked on the way back about how many damn people were there. We started a band on Rock Band named Socially Awkward (which has a very "awesome" logo showing the danger of... cutting roses?) and my arms hurt like a bitch cause I was on drums. I was only playing on easy too. :|

We got online with all the twelve year olds around 3 A.M. to play Gears of War, and switched to Grand Theft Auto when GoW only had a bunch of elitist, snotty assholes playing it. GTA was much better and Alex was able to run around and play deathmatch with a billion people. And race helicopters.

There should be hot air balloon races though. Or just hot air balloons in general, cause the Chipmunks Adventure taught us a lot about hot air ballooning.

I think I might make brown boot covers for my black Tenel Ka boots and just wear those for zombie!Shmi -- I'm gonna be wearing a long skirt anyways so it's not like they'll have to look awesome. Plus that means I will have to bring one less pair of boots! Which actually means I will only have ONE PAIR OF BOOTS TO BRING TO D*C. WHAT? WHAT THE HELL? USUALLY IT'S LIKE FOUR. OMG. Well, okay, I'd probably be bringing three this year (black TK boots, brown YJK TK boots for Shmi and a fun pair to wear when not in costume). So scratch the YJK brown ones for Shmi and I will just have the black TK ones and a fun yay pair. SO TWO.

OKAY. So Dragon*Con is now 28 days away and I'm currently flipping my shit. I still need to remake the asscape (<333) for Tempest Tenel Ka, make the Whole Damn Tenel Ka Queen dress (why do I have a bad feeling about getting that done) and the Whole Damn Maid Marian cloak. Good news: Peter had gotten a lot more bloody and Lisey's towel and garland are done. Therefore, DONE: Peter McVries, Chris Chambers, Lisey Landon, Little Sister -- ALMOST DONE BUT NOT QUITE: Shmi Skywalker (need to rip up and BLOODIFY), Tempest Tenel Ka (asscape!) -- NOT DONE: Queen Tenel Ka (the ideas for this are SO YAY THEY MAKE ME HAPPY but I need time to get them done, so we'll see if it actually happens), Maid Marian (I believe the cloak will be half-assed and not a pattern).

I will be making an update to The Death Stars site this weekend (and probably the last before D*C), so if you still want in on the group SEND ME YOUR PROFILE INFO (aka drop a comment here with it or respond with it in this thread). So on the left we have the three Long Walk numbers, which will be recycled this year, the boy scout pack (which will be used for both my Peter McVries costume and Ashley's Gordie LaChance costume), the little box on top of that is my CANDY CIGARETTES (<3333!) for Chris Chambers (since ew real cigarettes D:), the gold tiara for Maid Marian, the belt/canteen/pouch for Peter McVries, the shovel for Lisey Landon, the bloody yellow afghan square for Lisey Landon (I LOVE YOU EMILY <333), TENEL KA LIGHTSABER OMGOMGOMGOGM, the bloody axe for Ashley's Annie Wilkes costume, the GHETTOBLASTER for the Zel twins and then at the bottom is my ADAM needle for my Little Sister. This pile is missing the crazy flower garland for the Lisey costume.

I am still pissed about Rachel Weisz not being in the third Mummy movie, but I am gonna have to see it on the big screen. Good cheese fun! Brendan Fraser, Jet Li, Michelle Yeoh = automatic love (Luke Ford and Isabella Leong are bot HOT as well). Also, John Hannah always kicks ass in the Mummy movies and gets The Best Lines. Looks like he's getting them in this one too. XD I guess I will reserve judgement on Maria Bello until I see her as Evelyn and I will try not to be too bitchy from the get-go. But no one can kick ass as Evie as well as Rachel -- that is like her character.

Then for the fluoride I got to bite down on this mouth thing that had the stuff in it -- it looked like hair mousse and tasted like mint and it seriously looked like I was foaming at the mouth with rabies or something. D:

My back feels a little better. I wasn't really paying attention to it today cause I was so paranoid about the dentist -- but I think it's getting there. I also managed to bloody up my Peter McVries shirt a bit more. My bullet hole will definitely have to be on the left this year. Hehe~ I love how four of my eight costumes require me to be gross and bloody (zombie!Shmi, Peter McVries, Lisey Landon & Little Sister). Luckily the other four (the Tenel Kasasasasasasas, Chris Chambers & Maid Marian) require me to be clean (and only one of those four require me to BE A MAN, HUG IT OUT BITCH~)... heeeeee.

And I want to have Sam Sparro's babies. Especially for this song. And "Pocket" and "Black and Gold"... but mostly this one.

Dragon*Con is lucky I'm already bringing eight costumes to it or I would so make the Masked Bandit's outfit from The Fall.

Hur hur, I personally give a big SHOVE OFF WHATEVER to every single summer movie except this one.

I am so excited for this movie it's not even funny. Haven't seen Iron Man, haven't seen Indy, haven't seen Caspian. Wanted to, kind of, sure (Indy cause it's Indy and Caspian cause it's Ben Barnes, hay). Pretty sure I won't see Hulk or even Batman (OH NOES). But I hate movie theaters. I hate people. I especially get annoyed with children. But I will go see this movie opening weekend (and it will probably even be Sunday morning, at that) -- BECAUSE IT LOOKS AMAZING. And Pixar has NEVER LET DOWN BEFORE. And Wall E is the CUTEST EFFING THING EVER OHMYGAWD LOOK AT HIM.

I was in the drive-through line at McDonald's today and I saw a guy sitting on a curb waiting for a bus and scratching a lottery ticket. For some reason, as I sat there watching him, I had the craziest and most gigantic urge to want him to win. Like I just wanted to watch him jump up and start cheering cause he won a million bucks. And it's a Monday. So I don't know where this sudden bout of HUZZAH OTHER PEOPLE!!11 came from, but it felt good. I was sad for him when he shrugged and threw the ticket away. D:

Last Thursday I met Emily/lusa_thul at Subway since my work is right near her house and we sat around and blabbed about D*C and costumes and what we still have to get done. Then we figured out what date we could have our MORE-BLOOD-ON-THIS SESSION -- which will be a day we set aside for bloodying up her Hank Olson shirt and my Peter Mcvries shirt (more blood!) and wrecking the hell out of our Shmi and Padme zombie costumes. XD

Saturday I went to the COMPANY PICNIC!!1 -- it was actually really nice outside and I had fun. :O! Then Saturday night, Ronnie (OMG gruppe_sechs) and I played Rock Band with Ashley (OMG see_aphy_be) and her friend Ashley, LOL~ it was fun and the Ashley's were probably like RONNIE AND HEATHER ARE SUCH TOOLS cause after the song it would cut back to us talking over the headset about like... To Wong Foo and me quoting the "LITTLE LATIN BOY IN DRAG, WHY ARE YOU CRYING?" line. I love that line. LOVE IT.

Ronnie and I also played some multiplayer Grand Theft Auto IV with Ed/zekkxy, which was hilarious. Cause we amused ourselves by jumping out of helicopters and seeing how awesome my character model looked when hit with a car and then listening to our stupid taunts ("HEY QUE PASA????//") and then when we actually went and played a deathmatch with other people everyone was DOING AWESOME -- except me, of course. LOL. Although, I did get two kills and the "KILLED A ROCKSTAR EMPLOYEE" achievement. So HUZZAH! XD

I was cutting out pieces of the Uber-Queenly Tenel Ka Costume of Doomage last night and my Mom wanders over and looks at it and totally expounds on an idea I had concerning it and makes the costume like a billion times cooler, if said idea ends up working out. We stood there for like twenty minutes holding up fabric and pieces and all kinds of crap and going "OH MY SHIT THAT WOULD BE SO AMAZING" -- and now I am so horribly giddy for this Queen outfit. I just hope it works out. <3

Shmi is getting there. I need to sew the pieces of the top, which I will do kind of crappily since I'm just tearing it up and bloodying it anyways. Still need a belt for her. Tempest Tenel Ka -- redoing a couple things. Probably saving that till after I finish the Queen dress. Lisey -- got my shorts and my towel (AND MY SHOVEL XD). Need to fix towel and also tea/bloody-up said towel. Also need to figure out what to do about the little afghan square. Oh, and make the Boo'ya Moon garland. :O And then Maid Marian -- STILL PROCRASTINATING ON THE CLOAK. :|

Haha, I love how for three out of these eight costumes (four if you count the dried blood crap all over the Little Sister) -- one of the steps for each is basically: COVER IT IN BLOOD.

Do you want to know how crazy/anal D*C COSTUMING always make me? I have a flipping ORG CHART LOL. There is a row for what shoes I need for each costume, a row for clothing items I need, a row for props needed and a row for shit I still need to do. They're also arranged in the order I'm wearing them. And then a list of other things I need to bring. This also acts as my packing list and has hundreds of red lines on it once I'm all packed for the con. XD

I also need to figure out how short to get my bangs cut in August -- because I want bangs but I don't want them too short. Maybe I will get them layered from my cheekbones down. HMMMMMMMM.

AND HAHAHA, I love how it only took like TWO YEARS to finally get Peter McVries, Art Baker and Ray Garraty in a thread together. WITH THE ADDED SCOTT LANDON BONUS. XD

Sunday, Mom and I went out shopping and I ended up getting fabric for the top of the Shmi (DEAD!SHMI!) costume. I cut out all the pieces and also started cutting pieces for my uber-Queen Tenel Ka outfit of massive doom and stuff. I also found a shovel for the Lisey Landon costume, which is effing awesome cause it's like a pint-size half shovel. It's like someone took a shrinking ray aiming to make the shovel a spade and didn't have enough power so it came out as this silly little shovel. Which is awesome because I was afraid I'd be slapping people upside the head with a normal shovel.

We also had a D*C chat that actually ACHIEVED THINGS! I KNOW. IT SHOCKED ME TOO. IT WAS AMAZING. prix_etoile, see_aphy_be, lusa_thul and jedijaya were present and they helped me with ideas for Dead!Shmi and I helped Kyle find some stuff she could use for Dead!Mara and we planned general asshattery for the con and all that.

I'm remaking parts of Tempest TK (D*C '06 & Anime USA '07) and adding to it (except not those effing scales those are fine and I never want to mess with them again XD). Chambers is just a random thing (IMMA BE RIVER PHOENIX, YOU GUYS) to throw on during costume downtime and basic clothes, so it's pretty much done. So the ones I really need to focus on are Lisey, Shmi, Queenie Teekay and Marian (I'M SEW HEPPAY~!). FOUR COSTUMES. THREE MONTHS. GO.

The best part about these is that I only need to bring two pairs of boots to the con. Unlike last year where I brought FOUR PAIRS OF BOOTS. :| Chris and Peter wear Converse. Little Sister and Lisey are barefoot (I'll have flip-flops :P) -- and I have slippers for Marian and sandals for Queen TK. LOL, this is gonna be the most comfortable con for my feet in a long time. Especially after these last year. Which is a very good thing. Considering how much my feet HATE ME RIGHT NOW.


P.S. Why do cameo brooches remind me of HAPES? Is it the whole "LOOK AT THESE PRETTY LADIES!" thing or what? Cause I'm totally thinking about incorporating one on the Queen TK dress. LOL IT'S A PORTRAIT OF MY MAMMA TENENIEL, I SWEARS IT. XD

I put a new layout up on my cosplay site! :OOOO Yay 38 costumes or something.

I loved the Hotel Dusk one but it was about time for a new layout. Plus, I still hadn't added the stuff from Katsucon yet, so it was time to do that as well. Heheh~ ANYONE ELSE HAVE A COSTUME-Y SITE OF DOOM I CAN PUT IN THE LINK SECTION?

So this weekend was the weekend I realized, "Shit, Dragon*Con is only four months away and I have ONE out of SIX costumes completed!"

(TWO out of SEVEN if I bring my Little Sister costume! :D)

(THREE out of EIGHT if you count the Stand by Me boys -- but that's a white t-shirt and jeans!)

And the only reason one is completed is because it was a costume I wore last year: Peter McVries. BIG HEARTS.

As for the other five...

SHMI SKYWALKER (dead/zombified): I'm waffling on this one because there is a good one or two characters I'm thinking I might want to try my hand at instead, but I'm not sure yet... this is why I haven't started this costume yet.

MAID MARIAN: I have the nightgown and I have a pair of slippers to shuffle around in. But you know in the movie Pee Wee's Big Adventure where Pee Wee saves all the animals from the burning pet store and he keeps passing the snakes and sneering at them and procrastinating with them? That's me with this cloak. "I'M SEW HIAPPY~!"

ELLIOT REID: I haven't done anything with this because I have no idea if we're still doing it or not. XD (ARE WE? :OOOO)

TENEL KA: I wanted to do a sort of effed up hybrid of ROYAL OVERDONE GOWN/ARMOR OF DOOM. But I have this idea floating in my head of a dress. It's dark blue and all queenly and shit. But the idea for the cloak/capelet thing I have going in my head is gonna kick ass if I can get it to work... so I think QUEENLY DRESSAGE OF DOOM will be what I bring. It'll match KYLE'S ROYAL ALLANA <333 -- and hopefully be fun with Ben's/Caedus/Jaina's, etc. XD I'll most likely bring the Tempest cover TK as a backup as well.

LISEY LANDON: OH LISEY. I sat down to start work on this over the weekend and I kind of stared at it. Cause my first order of business is to turn the picture under the cut below into a garland I can basically wear like a boa that reflects the floral fucking awesomeness of BOO'YA MOON. And it will be slow and tedious but it must be done cause omg.

( They are just sitting on the table like this like, LOL GLUE ME YOU STUPID TWERP. )

So that's where I stand. Four months. Less than four months. :O

And holy crap, according to the cosplay.com D*C '08 Star Wars thread of doom, besides my TK, there's a Ben (teeeeheheh CS <3), a Caedus(!!!) and a Jaina (HI KAYLI~ XDDD)! And then of course lots of movie characters. IT WILL BE A PARTY! (THERE IS ALSO KYLE'S ALLANA -- OMG MOTHER/DAUGHTER XD <33333333 ILU~)

So today was a totally lazy today and I did pretty much nothing. Usually my mom and I will go out shopping and putz around or whatever but today we just sort of sat around and watched TV and stuff. And it was really nice outside and sunny and breezy and this laziness of ours ended when I brought up costume pictures. I blabbed to my mom what I was talking about and she was basically like, "GO GET ALL COSTUMIZED, LET'S GO OUTSIDE!!11"

Cause you know, I've told myself for a couple years now that I would get pictures of some sort of Tenel Ka costume WHEN NOT IN THE ATLANTA MARRIOTT MARQUIS, ATLANTA HYATT OR HYATT CRYSTAL CITY.

So there are pictures of me as Tenel Ka on the hill in front of my house. Hehehehe~

The bolero didn't really want to cooperate but I GIVES A DAMN. Also, there's like three braids in my hair. I can't do the ALL-OVER braid thing. It looks effing amazing in drawings and just doesn't work on hair that's NOT A DRAWING.

And for every good picture -- there was one of me being a dumbass. Of course.

SATURDAY: morning, whatever Tenel Ka I bring/make (Star Wars EU)???; evening, bloody!Shmi Skywalker (DEAD STAR WARS CHARACTERS)

SUNDAY: morning, Little Sister (Bioshock)???; evening, Maid Marian (Robin Hood: Men In Tights)

I'm not sure about Sunday -- it depends on if see_aphy_be brings a SPLICER COSTUME <3 and it also depends on the Masquerade.

Also, late Thursday night I might walk around dressed as Chris Chambers with Ashley as Gordie Lachance (you can totally swipe my McVries backpack for Gordie XD). Cause that's closet cosplay at it's awesomest and finest. XD

AND SCRUBS! Erin, Ronnie, omg! Are we still planning on doing this. YES YES PLZ? Scrubs are cheap at Wal-Mart! MUAHAH~

NEXT PICSPAM/REPORT = OCTOBER 2007 DISNEY TRIP!!11 FINALLY!! :O

Katsucon was fun. The dances were kind of meh, but the costumes were fun and all around it was pretty slick. OMG looks there's Erin and me -- Erin in her hot Chun Li outfit and me looking way too happy as a Little Sister. And YAY THE NEEDLE. Notice how I am shoving it in front of my face like, "LOOK THIS IS THE BEST PART, EFF THE COSTUME! <3"

And those shoes, they were major pain in footwear form -- but I couldn't walk around the hotel barefoot. So thanks to the shoes I have cuts on the backs of my feet and blisters on both little toes. It was worth it. I WILL BE IN PAIN FOR BIOSHOCK. I loved being able to wake up and throw my hair in a knotty, dirty ponytail for a costume. It was WONDERFUL.

As for that picture, what is with me hiding my left arm? I am so used to hiding my left arm in pictures now that it's JUST NATURAL. D:

So yeah, con report later -- complete with more Little Sister goodness (there were three of us! :D), the Eight Hammers of Justice (aka "Hammer Crew", "Hammer Time" or "Whack-A-Mole"), Naughty (Nawwwwty XD) Link and Super Samurai Roger (!!!) -- also a couple other fun costumes I saw. :D
